How to Care for Your Baby's Cotton Clothes
Cotton is forgiving, breathable and gets softer with wear — but a few gentle habits go a long way toward keeping it that way for the whole time your baby wears it, and beyond.
Wash cold, wash gently
A cold, gentle machine cycle is usually enough for everyday cotton essentials. Washing with like colours helps prevent any dye transfer, and a lighter spin cycle is kinder to delicate stitching and snap closures.
Skip the bleach, go easy on the dryer
Bleach can weaken cotton fibres and dull colour over time. If you use a dryer, a low, gentle setting is best — or better still, line dry in the shade, which is gentler on both the fabric and any printed or embroidered details.
Always follow the care label
Every BioMommie piece is finished with a care label specific to that fabric and construction — it's worth a quick check before the first wash, since small differences in weave or dye can call for slightly different care.
Store it folded, not crushed
Folding rather than hanging keeps cotton knits from stretching out of shape, especially for smaller newborn sizes. A drawer with a little breathing room keeps everything ready to reach for.
Treated gently, a well-made cotton piece can move from your first baby to your second, or become a keepsake worth holding onto — soft, simple, and a little more loved with every wash.
